Getting started
Make your first canonical AgentRanking API request.
Contract basics
AgentRanking API v1 is the first canonical public contract. Agent entities, identities, networks, assets, wallets, and accounts use public UUIDs. Chain-local token IDs, addresses, and registry keys are locators—not global agent IDs.
All timestamps are RFC 3339 UTC. Economic amounts and chain-sized integers are decimal strings. Scores, confidence, and ratios are integer parts per million. Unknown values are null; zero means measured zero.
First request
Anonymous public reads require no credential and use a conservative per-origin budget.
curl --fail-with-body \
--header 'Accept: application/json' \
'https://agentranking.io/api/v1/agents?sort=RANK&limit=10'const response = await fetch("https://agentranking.io/api/v1/agents?sort=RANK&limit=10", {
headers: { accept: "application/json" },
});
if (!response.ok) throw new Error(`AgentRanking request failed: ${response.status}`);
const page = await response.json();
for (const agent of page.data) console.log(agent.publicId, agent.name, agent.rank);Follow the returned opaque page.nextCursor; never decode or construct cursors. Stable resources emit ETags, so send If-None-Match on refresh.
Resolve before assuming
When starting from a protocol or network identifier, use POST /api/v1/resolve/agent-identities. Resolution may be unique, ambiguous, conflicted, or absent. Never choose the first match. Store the returned public identity/entity UUID and retain your original locator as source context.
Freshness and confidence
Directory, ranking, trust, market, staking, and statistics responses identify projection freshness or source observation time. Derived facts can be stale even when the HTTP response is newly generated. Treat confidence as evidence coverage, not certainty.
Environments and support
Production uses https://agentranking.io. Local development uses the configured NEXT_PUBLIC_ROOT_SITE_URL. Test fixtures are explicitly labeled and must not be used as production identities. Current operations are listed in /docs/api/reference; roadmap work is not included there.
Report security issues through the security contact published in /.well-known/security.txt. Use the public health endpoint for service status and include the response requestId when requesting support.
